AnyBP privacy policy
Version 1 · last updated 1 October 2026
Who we are
AnyBP is provided by AWM Ltd, the data controller for the photo reading described below. Contact details for privacy questions will be added here before AnyBP is released publicly.
What AnyBP is for
AnyBP records, organises and displays the readings from your own blood pressure monitor. It does not measure blood pressure, diagnose any condition or recommend treatment. Talk to your doctor or nurse about your readings.
What stays on your phone
Your readings, notes, medications, targets, the names and emails of the people using the app, and any photos waiting to be read are stored only on your phone. We don't receive them and can't see them. Backups are files you choose where to save (for example Files, iCloud or email).
Reading the numbers from a photo
To read the numbers automatically, AnyBP sends only the photograph securely to Anthropic's AI service, after you've agreed. It is used to identify the systolic, diastolic and pulse values. You check the values before anything is saved, and your saved blood pressure history stays on your phone.
| What is sent | The photo (shrunk to at most 1000 pixels and, if you chose, straightened and trimmed to the display), its width and height in pixels, and the app's access code. Not your name, email, other readings, notes or medications. |
|---|---|
| Why | Only to read the three numbers shown on your monitor. |
| Who handles it | Cloudflare (our hosting provider) passes the photo on and returns the result.
Our code there doesn't store or log the photo or the numbers read from it. Cloudflare may keep basic technical
records, such as your IP address, for security, under
Cloudflare's privacy policy. Anthropic runs the AI that reads the photo, on our behalf (as our data processor), in the United States. |
| How long it's kept | Anthropic automatically deletes inputs and outputs from its systems within 30 days, except where it needs to keep them longer to enforce its Usage Policy (up to 2 years if flagged) or where the law requires (Anthropic: how long data is stored, last updated 1 July 2026). Anthropic does not use this data to train its models without permission, and we don't give it (Anthropic: API and data retention). |
| Legal basis | Your explicit consent (UK GDPR article 9(2)(a)), which you give on the consent screen before the first photo is read, and can withdraw at any time. |
Your choices
- You can always type the numbers in yourself; no photo is sent then.
- Withdraw your consent at any time in Settings → Privacy. Photos are then no longer sent.
- Delete a person (Settings → the name at the top → Change → Delete) or remove the app to delete everything stored on your phone.
- You have rights to access, correct and delete your personal data, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.
Changes
If we change what is sent or who handles it, the version above changes and AnyBP asks for your agreement again before reading another photo.
